About
I have been painting for more than fifteen years, and watching the lowland for as long as I can remember. I grew up along the Danube and that horizon still sets the measure for everything I make: a lot of sky, few details, and light that holds the picture together.
I trained in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade and continued through residencies in Vienna and Leipzig. I work in oil and raw pigment, on canvases that rarely start below one meter: the scale is part of the subject, not decoration.
Each painting builds slowly, in layers, over several weeks. For commissions I visit the space first to see its light, and only then stretch the canvas.
Exhibitions
I opened my first solo exhibition in Belgrade in 2016, with twelve canvases and a single idea: that the lowland could carry an entire show. The motif has not changed since, only the scale has.
The works now live in private collections across 8 countries, from Belgrade and Novi Sad to Vienna and Zurich. Most pieces still sell directly from the studio, with no intermediaries.
Belgrade. The Lowlands series: twelve canvases, eight sold before the show closed.
A solo show in Novi Sad. The first cycle of canvases over two meters, painted for tall gallery walls.
The Horizons cycle sold out in three weeks. Paintings joined private collections in six countries.
First solo exhibition outside the region. The Quiet Lowland series traveled to a Vienna gallery; two works were acquired for permanent collections.
