Slow-roasted Serbian cooking, beside the stream that once turned our mill

Konak Stara Vodenica is a family estate on Zlatibor mountain: a homestead restaurant and four guest apartments, 10 minutes from the town center. Ingredients come from neighboring farms, bread is kneaded every morning and the sač fire is lit at dawn.

The menu

A short menu, slow to prepare

We cook what Zlatibor gives us that week: milk and kajmak from our neighbors, lamb from Semegnjevo shepherds, trout from a farm two villages away. That keeps the menu short and the flavors full.

Four apartments, one stream

The guesthouse is 30 steps from the restaurant: close enough for dinner in slippers, far enough that all you hear is the stream. Prices are per night for the whole apartment, homestead breakfast included.

Book a table or a stay

No booking platform, no upfront payment: send a request and we reply the same day. For sač dishes and weekend dates, get in touch at least a day ahead.

We call or message back by 8pm the same day to confirm.
Arrive and settle in
Your table waits on the terrace or by the stove, apartments are ready from 2pm, and a sač ordered a day ahead arrives hot.

Getting here

Ten minutes from town, then follow the stream

From the Zlatibor market square, take the Semegnjevo road for 4 kilometers and turn at the Stara Vodenica sign. The last 500 meters are gravel, fine for any car; parking is in the yard.

Weekend tables are best reserved ahead
